Humber Bridge Board
Why has the Humber Bridge Board joined Working Voices?
"The Humber Bridge Board has signed up to Working Voices, a project set up by the NHS to reach people at work enabling them to have a voice in any changes to local health services. We believe the Working Voices initiative provides two important opportunities for our team at the Humber Bridge. With almost all of our staff living in the Hull, East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire areas, we are a committed local employer and recognise the benefits of helping them to give their views on healthcare issues in the region. This approach is particularly convenient for staff who are on unsocial hours as a large number of our employees work night shifts and at weekends.
"The NHS scheme also provides us with opportunities to make the most of the health and well-being initiatives currently available locally. Being part of Working Voices enables us to access activities such as onsite health checks and other campaign initiatives which we believe will make it much easier for our busy team to find out more about their own health and receive advice on issues that matter to them."
About the Humber Bridge Board
The Humber Bridge team manages a 1.4-mile highway between East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, a bridge which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.
The team of almost 100 employees work in a mix of roles – from administration and customer service to maintenance and toll collection. With thousands of bridge users every week, it is important for us as an employer to encourage health and well-being among the staff and deliver excellent customer service.
