About Hull City Council

Hull City Council is a unitary authority formed in 1996 when Humberside County Council was broken up into smaller unitary authorities. Politically it is Labour controlled and the size of the workforce is around 4,600 employees without including schools. It provides a range of services such as waste management, education, housing services, social services, environmental health and public health.
