Rugby fans will be in with a chance to win some super league prizes this Saturday at a Health Day being held by the Teaming Up for Health Partnership.
The event will take place on April 14 at KCOM Craven Park from 10am-2pm, where over 30 local organisations will be offering free activities, advice and taster sessions.
The Teaming Up for Health partnership sees Hull’s two rugby league clubs, Hull Kingston Rovers and Hull FC, join forces with NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
Avid fans of the two teams can be in with a chance of winning:
- Pair of KR home tickets
- 2 KCOM Craven Park stadium tours
- 2 signed KR team photos
- 1 signed KR Rugby ball
- 1 signed FC ball
- 1 signed FC Shirt
- Pair of tickets for each of the seven remaining Hull FC home games at KCOM Stadium – including a stadium tour
To be entered into the prize draw, fans simply need to join the Fitmums and Friends try-a-mile group for a walk or a run, name their top three stands and share their attendance on social media using the hashtag #Hullthy.
The try-a-mile sessions, hosted by Fitmums and Friends, will be taking place throughout the day, so there’s plenty of opportunity to take part.
Other activities include: get fit with the Robins, yoga taster sessions, movement to music, a stadium tour and an opportunity to meet Rufus & Rover (Hull KR’s mascots) and players from both teams.
There’s also a chance to support the rugby stars of the future when Hull KR’s U14s girls take on Thatto Health at 1pm.
Erica Daley, director of integrated commissioning at NHS Hull CCG, commented:
“Saturday’s Health Day is shaping up to be a fun event for people of all ages. It’s great to see so many local healthcare and charity organisations joining forces with Teaming Up for Health to make a difference in our city. The CCG couldn’t be more excited to work alongside Hull FC and Hull KR, so come down, join us and have a laugh while you try something new.”
Olivia Jackson, Community Integrated Manager at Hull FC Community Foundation: said:
“We are really excited about our first Teaming up for Health event on Saturday 14th April. To have so many providers there is fantastic, and hopefully this will be the first of a number of successful events that the partnership will look to hold through the year. There will be some great activities happening on the day, and it is a brilliant opportunity for fans to engage with both clubs and win various prizes on offer!”
Helen Schofield, Manager of the Hull KR Community Trust, added:
“We are really excited to be part of Teaming up for Health in partnership with Hull CGG, Hull City Council and Hull FC Foundation. This project aims to help support people across Hull, including all supporters of rugby league, with their health and wellbeing.
“The Health Day on Saturday is the first of a series of events and initiatives which Teaming up for Health has planned so we’d love to see as many people down at KCOM Craven Park as possible, whether they want to find out more information from the range of providers who will be here or to try something new. There will be lots of activities for people to try and prizes to be won. Let’s get #Hullthy.”
