A COVID booster vaccine helps improve the protection you have from your first two doses of the vaccine. It helps give you longer-term protection against getting seriously ill from COVID-19.
Whilst we are not currently offering walk-ins in Hull for booster COVID vaccinations, there is plenty of availability for booked appointments. We have good availability for late nights and weekends, along with daytime appointments at pharmacies, the city centre vaccination centre and other sites, all of which are bookable through the national booking service.
To book an appointment, people should visit: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or call 119.
We want to ensure that people have a positive experience when coming for their vaccination. Booked appointments offer patients the best experience, with less time spent queuing, particularly in the cold weather where buildings are not able to accommodate all people queuing inside.
We are working to ensure we have sufficient capacity in our local system to meet our population needs for their COVID vaccinations and we are reviewing the situation on walk-ins regularly. People should book through the National Booking Service to get a local appointment, however if a anyone specifically wishes to attend a walk-in site, they can travel to one further afield. The nearest walk-in sites can be found online here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/find-a-walk-in-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-site/.
