Five nurses working in Hull GP Practices have been shortlisted in the Recognising the Value of General Practice Nursing (GPN) Nursing Awards being held tonight for the Humber Coast and Vale area.
Sarah Smyth, Director of Quality & Clinical Governance / Executive Nurse at NHS Hull CCG said:
“It is a great honour and privilege as a Nurse to be attending the GPN tonight and to be presenting an award ! The awards recognise and celebrate the vital contribution practice nurses and other healthcare professionals make to improve patient care as part of the primary care team. The shortlisted candidates fall into five categories which recognise the depth and breadth of the contribution they make:
- Rising Star (Practice Nurse with less than two years’ experience) – Lisa Hessey from the Haxby Group
- Practice Nurse Leadership – Hull and the Vale of York Haxby Group team
- General Practice Nurse Innovator of the Year – Elaine Vine-Jenkins shortlisted from the James Alexander Family Practice
- Practice Nurse Mentor of the Year – Debra Smith, The Haxby Group
- Practice Nurse Preceptor of the Year – Sarah Butler, The Haxby Group
Deputy Director of Nursing for Yorkshire and the Humber, Wendy Barker, said: “We are thrilled so many people have come forward to nominate practice nurses for these awards. It shows what huge talent lies within the NHS in Yorkshire and the Humber. “By celebrating the achievements of these individuals we can shine a light on just some of the fabulous people involved in practice nursing in the NHS.”
