The Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and East Riding CCG are thrilled to announce Suzanne Rastrick, Chief Allied Health Professions Officer for NHS England, as the keynote speaker for the first ever Allied Health Professions and Social Care Celebration Event.
The lunch time event will take place on 11th March 2020 and will celebrate the unsung heroes and achievements within the sector over the past year across Hull and East Riding. It will include an awards ceremony, speeches and poster presentations.

Patience Young, Clinical Commissioning Lead for Hull CCG, said: “This award ceremony offers the fantastic opportunity for allied health professionals and health and social care colleagues to recognise one another for their continued hard work, commitment and achievements. In line with the Allied Health Professionals into Action movement. We hope this will aid in addressing inequalities often faced by many allied health professionals and social care workers.
“To be joined by Suzanne Rastrick will be a great honour and we look forward to welcoming her to Hull for her first ever visit.”
Nominations are now open for the awards, which are; the Long Service Award, Allied Health and Social Care Professional of the Year, the Rising Star Award, Allied Health Professions and Social Care Support Worker of the Year, Creativity and Innovation Award and the Integrated Working Award.
Patience continued: “Nominating a colleague for any of these awards will enable them to celebrate their achievements and shine a light on the benefits they have brought to service users as a result of their work.”
Nominations are open to all working in services commissioned by Hull CCG or East Riding CCG and partners in Hull and the East Riding Councils. All award nominations will be put to an impartial, diverse panel to decide on the winners which will be announced at the event in March.
Presenting awards on the evening will be the partners of the event: East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull City Council, Hull University Teaching Hospital (HUTH), Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and City Health Care Partnership (CHCP).
Another exciting element of the event will be a poster presentation area, with the posters judged by special guest Suzanne Rastrick. And of course, the best poster will win a prize!
These should be an elevated pitch, giving an insight into the services your organisation brings to service users and what is special about what you’re delivering. Individuals and teams are encouraged to submit posters for consideration to HullCCG.contactus@nhs.net.
