For booster COVID vaccinations in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire, there is additional, significant capacity being added within the system for booked appointments, with the aim of meeting the target to offer all adults their booster dose by the end of December 2021.
We already have good availability for late evenings and weekends, along with daytime appointments, all of which are bookable through the national booking service. Hull vaccination sites include the existing large Primary Care Network sites (like the MKM Stadium), GP surgeries, the Princes Quay vaccination site and a number of Community pharmacies.
In East Riding of Yorkshire vaccination sites are available at Beverley, Bridlington, Cottingham, Driffield, Goole, Hessle, Hornsea, Market Weighton, Willerby and Withernsea.
We want to ensure that people have a positive experience when coming for their vaccination. Booked appointments offer patients the best experience, with less time spent queuing, particularly in the cold weather where venues are not able to accommodate everyone waiting inside.
It is important to stress that there is sufficient capacity in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire to vaccinate, and this capacity will be increasing in the coming days. We are also continuously reviewing the options available to meet our population’s needs for their booster COVID vaccinations.
People are eligible for the booster jab 91 days after their second vaccine dose.
They are encouraged to either book online (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/) or by ringing 119.
People are asked not to call their GP to arrange vaccination.
People who have not yet taken up the offer of their first dose, or are due their second dose are also encouraged to book an appointment through the website above or by ringing 119 as the offer of vaccination remains open.
We would encourage people to book through the National Booking Service to get a local appointment as opposed to walking in without an appointment.
