People in Hull are being invited to give their views on health and wellbeing in the city.
An event will take place at Trinity Market on Wednesday 11 March from 10am to 2pm to launch the Hull Health and Wellbeing Board’s engagement work, called The Hull We Want, which will be continuing throughout the year.
Members of the board will be speaking to people to understand the health and wellbeing needs and aspirations for the city.
It comes ahead of a new strategy which will provide the focus of work for partners over the next five years.
Councillor Hester Bridges, chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board said: “We are looking forward to launching the engagement work to hear from people about what matters to them.
“We want every resident to have the opportunity to tell us their view and we will be holding a number of events and engagement sessions right across the city throughout the year. The public voice will be a key component of the new health and wellbeing strategy that will be delivered by all of our partners working together.”
People will be invited to write and draw on a large wall mural and on the back of t-shirts worn by board members from organisations including Hull City Council, Hull Clinical Commissioning Group, Humber Foundation Teaching Trust, Healthwatch Hull, the Voice and Influence Partnership and Hull Schools and Learning Partnership.
Volunteers will be on-hand to chat and gain an insight into what the health needs of local people are, what people do to remain healthy and happy and what they’d like to see included in the local strategy.
Dr Dan Roper, deputy chair of the board, said: “The Health and Wellbeing Board has an ambition to improve health and wellbeing across the city and make real and sustained improvements based largely on what local people want. I would encourage everyone to come along to tell us what matters to them and help to influence the future of health and wellbeing in Hull.”
Events will be happening across the city throughout the year. To keep up to date on engagement and the Health and Wellbeing Board’s work, follow @HWBHull on Twitter.
