From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to comment on the proposals for a new health facility in West Hull.

Springhead Medical Centre in Willerby Road has more than 16,000 patients and ideas are being explored to create new facilities, housing GPs, community services and a pharmacy under one roof. Currently split over two sites, the existing surgery is not big enough for the practice population.

Although plans are still in their infancy, the Wymersley Park area of west Hull has been suggested as a potential location and two drop-in sessions have recently been held for people to find out more about the need for the new building and potential sites

Around 300 patients and residents attended the events, providing verbal and written feedback on the proposals. Aiming to create a resilient primary healthcare service for the future, NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Springhead Medical Centre, Springhead Patient Participation Group (PPG) and development partner Hull Citycare are exploring the options for the new facility.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended the recent drop-in sessions and we’re really pleased people are engaging and talking to us.

It’s a really important scheme in terms of ensuring that patients have access to primary medical services of their choice in the future. We want to make sure we get it right.

The feedback is being collated and we’re analysing it to understand the key themes.

We are also reviewing the site options, which include all of the West Hull suggestions put to us by the public. This is an ongoing process over several months and we are still really keen to hear people’s thoughts.

In September, we intend to feed back on the sites suggested and present some early options. Venues, dates and times for further drop-in sessions will be announced in coming weeks.
