Participating GP practices across Hull are introducing a new automated telephone system ‘patient partner’ which enables patients to ring and book, cancel, check or change appointments, and in some practices order repeat prescriptions, at extended hours throughout the day. The automated system will take patients through easy to follow steps and it means that there’s no rush to ring at 8am.
Patient Partner is one of the solutions to give patients more choice in accessing their GP Practice.
This is just one of a number of initiatives that NHS Hull are implementing as part of the NHS Five Year Forward View which sets out how the health service needs to change to meet the needs of the population and take advantage of new technology and innovation.
