August Bank Holiday is approaching and while we are hoping for a sunny, fun filled weekend, we may find ourselves in need of healthcare or support.
Pharmacies
If you begin to feel under the weather some pharmacies will remain open over the bank holiday. Pharmacists can help with a wide range of minor complaints and ailments.
From achy muscles to coughs and colds, they can offer advice and help to treat your symptoms, often without the need to visit your GP. Find out which pharmacies are open and when here.
Minor injuries
The Accident & Emergency department at Hull Royal Infirmary can become very busy over the bank holiday. We are asking patients who are not in a critical or life-threatening situation to consider alternatives.
The Urgent Care Centre in Bransholme is open 24 hours a day and even has X-ray facilities available from 9am to 5pm. It can care for strains, sprains, scalds, insect bites, cuts, eye complaints, small fractures and many other minor injuries. What’s more; it’s often quicker than visiting A&E.  The GP walk centre is also open 8-8 across the Bank Holiday weekend at Wilberforce Health Centre in the city centre
Patients can simply walk in. No appointment is necessary.
