Research and Development (R&D) Team
Research and Development Service
Research is vital in providing the evidence needed to transform services and improve outcomes for the patient population. By integrating research into the organisation it can improve quality of care and use of NHS resources.
Hosted by East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group, the R&D team work on behalf of Hull CCG, North Lincolnshire CCG, North East Lincolnshire CCG and East Riding of Yorkshire CCG. In addition to the CCGs, the R&D team work closely with partners from academic centres and other health and care organisations.
The team's aim is to promote and facilitate the local provision of high quality research, making clinical research accessible to patients registered with a local GP. This is so they can improve care, provide better quality services and improve health outcomes for our local patient population.

You can also find out more about local research by visiting the National Institute for Health Research’s (NIHR) Clinical Research Network website for Yorkshire and Humber. Examples of NIHR initiatives include:
Join Dementia Research: Join Dementia Research is a national database that exists to enable people to register their interest in participating in dementia research. People can then be matched to suitable studies that may be of interest to them. Anyone can register their interest to be involved.
Patient Research Ambassadors: a Patient Research Ambassador is someone who promotes health research from a patient point of view. They could be a patient, service user, carer or lay person who is enthusiastic about health research and is willing to communicate that to other patients, the public and healthcare professionals.
